This
level of reinforcement is not possible with coatings
such as epoxies etc. We specify GRP for 99% of our
bund linings for the reasons above and it will also
remain flexible enough to move with the general
expansion and contraction of the bund or the tank.
The
standard application process of our GRP lining system
is as follows:
1.
Grit blasting is normally carried out to the standard
required for the application.
2. All
prepared areas will be primed with the specified
resin.
3. CSM
(Chopped Strand Mat) is applied in layers to the
thickness required.
4.
A chemical resisting tissue veil is applied to improve
chemical resistance and also prevent pin holes.
5.
A resin wash which is a combination of resins, is
applied to all areas. The resin wash is pigmented
to the required colour, once cured it leaves a smooth
gloss finish. It is sanded to remove any irregularities
and any dust is removed.
6.
A top coat is then applied to finish the lining
system. The lining system is strong, durable, flexible
chemical resistant and has a seamless, ceramic like
finish. Implementing the correct resins for the
application, the GRP lining system is the long-term,
cost effective answer for a wide range of industrial
containment processes.
